Data deletion
Last updated:
This page explains how to remove your data from Acetrio. It is the deletion route we publish to Meta, and it applies equally to data we hold from Google, Meta, Apple, and our own website.
Who this is for
- Clients whose business profiles we manage.
- Website visitors who sent us an enquiry through the contact form.
- Anyone whose information reached us through a platform we operate on a client’s behalf.
You do not need an account with us to make a request, and we do not charge for it.
What we may hold
| Source | What it may include |
|---|---|
| Our contact form | Your name, business name, email, optional phone, business type, city, and message |
| Google Business Profile API | Location details, hours, attributes, posts, reviews, and performance metrics for a profile we manage — cached no longer than 30 calendar days |
| Meta APIs | Page or Instagram content and engagement data for an account we manage |
| Apple Business Connect | Location data for a business that has delegated management to us |
The fastest route: revoke our access yourself
You control the grant, so you can withdraw it directly, without us and without waiting on us. This takes effect immediately.
- Google Business Profile — open your Business Profile, go to the profile’s people or managers list, and remove Acetrio. You can also review and revoke third-party access from your Google Account permissions page.
- Meta — in Meta Business Settings, remove our partner or business access from your Page or Instagram professional account.
- Apple Business Connect — in your Apple Business Connect account, remove Acetrio as a third-party partner for your brands and locations.
Once access is revoked we can no longer read or change anything on that profile. Revoking access does not by itself delete data we already hold — for that, make a deletion request below.
Requesting deletion from us
Email privacy@acetr.io with the subject line Data deletion request.
Please include:
- Your name, and the business name if you are a client.
- The platform or platforms concerned, if you know them.
- Any email address or profile you used with us, so we can find the right records.
We do not require any particular form of words, and we will not ask you to justify the request.
What happens next, and when
- We acknowledge your request within 10 business days, in writing, to the address you wrote from.
- We identify the data we hold across our systems and the platforms concerned.
- We delete it, and we instruct any sub-processor holding a copy to do the same.
- We confirm completion to you in writing within 45 calendar days of receiving the request, and we tell you what was deleted.
If a request is unusually complex we may extend that once, by a further 45 days. We will tell you before the first period runs out, explain why, and give you a new date.
Checking the status of your request
Reply to our acknowledgement email at any time and we will tell you, in plain language, where your request has got to. If you have not heard from us within 10 business days, write again to privacy@acetr.io and mark it urgent.
When we may not be able to delete everything
In narrow cases the law requires us to keep certain records, or lets us keep them, even after you ask us to delete. The most common are:
- Records we must retain by law — for example, invoices and other accounting records retained for the statutory period.
- Records needed to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim, for as long as that claim is live.
- Data that is no longer ours to delete — once a platform holds data in your own account, only you or the platform can remove it.
If any part of your request is refused, we will tell you which part, and why, in writing, and we will delete everything else. You may challenge that decision by replying to us, and you may complain to your local data protection authority.
